Sunrise Camel Trek

A sunset camel trek is included in the price but you also have the option to book a sunrise camel trek.

Greet the brand new day by the light of the dawn with a sunrise camel trek over the dunes. This will take place directly from the camp, out into the surrounding high dunes and back in time for breakfast.

Duration time : 30 min to 2 hours (your choice but partly dependent on your departure time)

Camel Trek with Picnic Lunch / Nomad Visit

For two night stays, we recommend this experience. Accompanied by your camels, you will walk across across the sands to experience the desert and possibly spot some wildlife.

After about 2hours we will stop for a picnic under the shade of a Tamarisk tree. Here you can relax a while and when you are ready we will return to camp either on foot or by car.

Alternatively you can walk for around 90 mins then hop into the 4WD to reach a nomad family. Here you can watch sandbread being prepared in the traditional way, share tea with your hosts and learn more about their harsh and unique way of life. Afterwards you will return to the camp in time for lunch.

Special Occasion

The ultimate in romance for a special occasion – Ahlan Camp will provide you with a private dining experience. Your special area in the dunes will be prepared with candles and we can even provide champagne if you request it at least two weeks in advance of your visit.

Lunch at Ahlan Camp

When you stay with us for more than one night, we provide a complimentary lunch.

This can be in the form of a picnic which we will set up in a shady spot in the dunes or at a table inside or out. Our lunches are based on traditional Moroccan food, predominantly tagines, skewered grilled meats, and a variety of Moroccan salads and seasonal fruit salads.
